RV Rental Guidelines

We are delighted to be one of New Jersey's premiere RV Rental agencies. We offer Motorhomes for rent as well as traditional travel trailers and expandable travel trailers.

RV Rental Requirements:

Renter must be a minimum of 25 years of age and must have a major credit card and adequate identification. All drivers must be a minimum of 21 years of age and have a valid drivers license. Renter, all additional drivers and credit card holder must be present at the time of pick up to sign the rental contract. Renter must present proof of automobile insurance applicable to the rental unit.

Please note: Scott Motor Coach Sales, Inc. RV Center management reserves the right to deny service to anyone deemed a credit or security risk.

Vehicle Type:

Scott Motor Coach Sales, Inc. RV Center reserves the right to substitute models with similar type category. Vehicles may be winterized during freezing temperatures.

RV Rental Rates, Down Payment, and Rental Payments:

Rates are subject to change. Rates are not guaranteed until the reservation is confirmed and a down payment of $300 is made to lock in the quoted price. Reservation down payment is applied directly toward the total rental charges due at the time of pickup.

Payments of the balance of all rental charges, including estimated mileage charges, are due at the time of pick up. No refund is given for late pick up, early return or unused pre-paid miles. Contracts are subject to fees imposed by the state government. The state of New Jersey charges $5.00 per day up to 28 days Domestic Security Fee.

Rental charges may be paid by Master Card, Visa, American Express or Discover Card. Scott Motor Coach Sales, Inc. RV Center also accepts Cash, Personal Checks (Subject to 3rd party verification service), Money Order, Bank Cashiers Check, Travelers Checks and Diners Club. Call the dealership for verification.

RV Rental Security Deposit

The security deposit is a verification and pre-authorization of available funds on your credit card in the amount of $750. The pre-authorization is reversed at the time of return. The security deposit must be made with a major credit card. ATM/Debit/Check Cards are not accepted.

Changes and Cancellations to Original RV Rental Contract:

Unit type, and the dates of travel determine the rental rate. Prevailing rate will apply for any changes to the original reservation.

Cancellation before scheduled pick-up date or No Show = $300 Fee

RV Pick Up:

Please be prepared for 1 hour of instruction and 30 minutes to 1 hour for rental contract processing when you arrive. All drivers for your rental period must be present. Please bring the following documents with you when you pick up your RV:

(1) Current drivers license. The license must not expire during the rental period. Any additional drivers to be added on the contract must have their current drivers license as well and must be present at pickup.

(2) Proof of insurance with policy number. Bring a separate rider if your insurance company requires one. It is the renters responsibility to confirm coverage.

(3) A major credit card with sufficient available credit.

Customers are required to call the rental department between 9:00 AM– 10:00 AM on the morning of scheduled pick-up and arrange a vehicle pick-up time. Customers must arrive at the pick-up station no less than one hour before rental station's official closing time.

There is no refund if client picks up later than the scheduled day of departure.

Customer vehicles cannot be stored at the rental location without prior authorization from the Rental Manager. Scott Motor Coach Sales, Inc. RV Center is not responsible for any damages to the customer's stored vehicle. Storage fees may apply.

Rental RV Return:

Return time is between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM. Customers returning late may be charged a $50.00 or more per hour late fee. There is no refund if customer terminates rental before scheduled return date. Motorhome cannot be dropped off later than 1 hr before or anytime outside of rental department's official hours of operation. All late returns or extensions must be authorized by the rental department at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled date of return, and any additional charges will be immediately applied to the customers credit card on file.

Motorhome must be returned in clean condition. Cleaning fee of $50 or more per hour may apply.

Motorhome must be returned with a full fuel tank. All motorhomes are topped off before leaving the lot. $4.00 per gallon will be charged for fuel we must add to bring the tank gauge to the full mark.

RV must be returned with black and grey water tanks empty. A fee will be charged at the current rate to empty the tanks.

RV Rental Restrictions

Rental RV may not be taken outside of the United States.

No pet's are allowed in the Rental unit

All Rental RVs are non-smoking. A $50 cleaning fee will apply.

RV Rental Travel Restriction Information

Clients are restricted from traveling to certain regions due to road conditions, extreme weather, acts of God, security alerts and /or availability of support. Restrictions are subject to change without notice and are determined solely by Scott Motor Coach Sales, Inc. RV Center. Clients are responsible for knowing and following the travel restrictions and for informing themselves of possible changing conditions.

Scott Motor Coach Sales, Inc. RV Center, to the best of its ability, will provide clients as much information at time of pick up as possible but is not liable for any delays or detours client may encounter. Violation of these travel restrictions voids insurance and coverage option under the terms and conditions of the rental contract.

Please note the following restrictions:

Off-road: Travel on non-public, unpaved and / or 'logging' roads is not permitted at any time.

Mexico: Travel not permitted.

New York City / Manhattan: Travel is not permitted.

Winter: Travel during winter months is permitted. However, clients are responsible for any damage due to systems freezing due to cold weather. As a precautionary measure, water may be replaced by anti-freeze to prevent water systems from freezing (Please ask the rental counter for instructions on this procedure). Customers must plan on using bottled water and may be charged a 'de-winterization' fee if water systems are used. Special instructions may be given at the rental counter.

Summer: Travel in summer months and /or in extreme temperatures can strain motor home systems such as roof and dash air conditioners, generator and refrigerator. We maintain our motorhome fleet to accommodate all weather conditions; however, clients should be made aware that performance of motorhome systems under extreme conditions cannot be guaranteed.

Canada: Travel is not permitted.
